Slovak Bar Association
Independent advocacy was established in accordance with code SNR no. 132/1990 Coll. on advocacy with effect from 1st July 1990. Slovak Bar Association is an independent self-governing professional organization associating more than 4700 attorneys and 1700 trainee attorneys. The Advocacy helps to execute constitutional right of citizens for defense and to protect other rights and interests of citizens and legal persons in accordance with Constitution of SR and laws. Attorneys fulfill objectives of advocacy mainly by defending citizens in criminal proceedings, representing citizens and legal persons at courts, state bodies and other legal subjects, by writing documents, providing legal counsel and elaborating legal analyses.
